MY JOURNEY

Then and Now

I have been a teacher of English myself, for about 26 years, in the CBSE schools of Delhi. I began as a teacher for Class I in 1993 and concluded in 2015, with more than 19 years of teaching secondary and senior secondary classes. I’ve also had the opportunity to create academic content for a few publishing houses during my tenure and I thoroughly enjoyed the creative experience. It was with the advent of CBSE-Trinity ASL, around 2012-13 that I commenced my journey in the realm of teacher support, resource material development and training. I’ve had the good fortune to visit several rewarding experiences and learning opportunities over the past decade, as a Freelance ELT Teacher Educator and materials developer.

My favourite and constant travel companion has been the CBSE!

My favourite and constant travel companion has been the CBSE! I’ve collaborated to create teacher training resource modules and continued engaging with teachers as a teacher trainer for CBSE-CoE, developed Sample Question Papers for X & XII English (2019-2021), contributed extensively to the Reading Literacy Practice Book, shared content materials for the CCT section of DIKSHA and textbook podcasts for CBSE Shiksha Vani. I continue to contribute as a trained CBSE Subject Expert in projects for Assessment Design, CBE, Item Writing, Reading Mission etc.

The ELT world-

Authoring and Training

I continue to explore the ELT world via publishing houses too. I have authored a literature textbook with Oxford University Press, class X resource book (for Communicative English) with Orient Blackswan, Readers and Workbooks VI-VIII as well as Speaking and Listening Skill books for Headword Publishing, developed content for Readers VI-VIII for Indiannica Learning and varied worksheets and teacher support materials for others.

I worked as a teacher-trainer for Oxford University Press for some years and am currently on board as a teacher trainer with Orient Blackswan, Cambridge University Press, Harper Collins, Headword Publishing, Orange Slates, AIEF and others.

I have also been training DAV schools’ Master trainers for the past few years and have trained teachers from Army Schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Schools, and Sahodayas, on occasion. I have been invited, as a Resource Person by several schools of India for the Capacity Building Programmes and by organisations like Gurushala and ELT@I as well.

There are other adventures that enriched my journey by providing great learning opportunities, like the NAS resource development and review with NCERT and SCERT, respectively.
